SAMPLE: 1,000 seeds

PROCEDURE:

1. Soak approximately 1000 seeds in 50ml of water and stir for approx. 5 minutes.

2. Filter the water with cheesecloth to separate the washings from the seeds.

3. Centrifuge the water suspension at 3000 rpm for 5 minutes.

4. Resuspend the precipitate in 5ml of water and examine 10 drops of 10ul looking for oospores of P. farinosa f.sp. spinaciae under the microscope.
